Lindsay and Sarah talk about one inspiring woman’s Global LOVE Movement.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am an inspirational artist with a passion for making ordinary life feel precious and magical. For 25 years I’ve been on a healing journey and have explored many modalities and learned from countless teachers. After moving from Portland, Oregon and spending the last year on a beach in Mexico, healing, letting go and getting in touch with my purpose have been my main goals in life.
Since then, I’ve moved to St Louis, Missouri where I’ve re-dedicated myself to spreading messages of self-love and unity, uplifting as many human hearts as I possibly can.
Tell us about your path to creating your business and your vision
It has been a long and winding road for sure. My business started out as a hobby, grew into a full time gig, got put on the back burner while I started another business and finally came back around to be my full time passion and love. It took me a long time to embrace being and artist and a healer and a magic woman without guilt clouding my experience. I thought only lucky people got to be artists 😉 But the vision of making the world a better place never left and finally it became too painful to brush it aside. I had to dedicate myself, unplug from all other possible paths and truly focus on building my life around my art. I’ve never felt so aligned than when I gave up all the other stories and embraced my path.
Tell us a little about yourself and your philosophy on wellness:
My philosophy is always a work in progress. I am constantly seeking new information about the mind, body, spirit relationship. My view is that we humans are infinitely more powerful than we are taught to believe and we do have the power to heal ourselves. Also, there are so many layers and levels going on within reality that we don’t always know the blessings within the challenges of life. Surrendering and trusting in the process (not always easy) and knowing that we are held by the Divine is my constant go to feeling to create a sense of wellness. It’s a relief to know that we are not alone.
I practice daily mantras and create art focused on inspiration and self-love. That keeps me expanding my capacity to heal, enjoying my life through the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ and curious about ways that I can generate more self love in my life. Art is a huge part of my philosophy and my process for healing.
What was the catalyst in your life to fuel your commitment to wellness?
My childhood was filled with a lot of emotional abuse and I was crippled by insecurity and self-loathing as a teenager. It was always heartbreaking for me to experience humans being mean to eachother and i could never make sense of why people treated one another badly. I think it was through music that i first touched a place of joy and abandon. That opened me up to a feeling that i didn’t know existed previously. I made a commitment to myself to heal the inner wounds and do the work to create a life focused on love and wellness on the inside.
How do you stay healthy, resilient and vibrant?
I wake up and do some yoga everyday and take about 2 hours from waking before I turn on my computer.
I meditate, jump on my mini-trampoline and walk the dog. I try to journal daily as well and I LOVE to dance and sing. Also, my art revolves around positive mantras, so I try to practice what I preach 🙂
If there was only one thing a person could find the energy and resources to make a priority what would it be?
Whatever your heart truly loves, do it. If it’s live music, taking a class, walking in the woods, going on a spiritual retreat, hanging out at the coffee shop by yourslef, bird watching, whatever, make THAT a priority. So often we do not allow ourselves to do the things we enjoy unless we’ve got all our chores done, have a bunch of money in the bank, made everyone around us happy, etc.. That is simply BS in my book. When we prioritize our unique activities that make our hearts sing, it ripples out in our lives in so many beautiful ways. It nourishes our souls and makes other things in life a lot more bearable.
What is your favorite inspirational quote for wellness / awesomeness / thrival?
One of my all time faves is:
“There is nothing standing in the way of paradise for the whole human race except old ideas” – Charles Dederich
